چکیده
Codiaeum variegatum has been widely investigated for its biological proprieties ranging from the antiamoebic potential to phytochemical analysis. The aim of present study was evaluate anti-inflammatory C. leaf extracts and fractions. A primary macrophage culture activated by Saccharomyces cereviseae (SC) used cell cytotoxicity plant Macrophages were treated with different concentrations (0.1; 1; 10 100 μg/mL) extracts/fractions inhibition 5-lipoxygenase activity, nitric oxide (NO) Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF-α) production. No significant difference observed on viability in presence fractions at tested concentration during incubation period. Extracts inhibited NO TNF-α production viable mouse macrophages a concentration-dependent manner. fractionation process increased activity. Among fractions, HEF2, HEF3, HEF5, EEF1, EEF3 EEF5 exhibited best potential. greater throughout pro-inflammatory mediators such as NO, 5-Lox TNF-α.

In Vitro Propagation of Croton (codiaeum Variegatum)
Croton (Codiaeum variegatum) with its amazing colors and leathery leaves is regarded as a beautiful foliage plant. The plant is native of South East Asia. Generally crotons are multiplied vegetatively by means of cuttings and air layering. This process is slow in response and need to maintain large number of mother plants stock. Micropropagation is an alternative mean of propagation that can me...

Codiaeum variegatum (L.) Blume is one of the most popular ornamental foliage plants. It encompasses more than 300 recognized cultivars valued by their wide range of leaf shapes and vivid foliage colors. Thus far, only limited information is available regarding the genetic basis of their leaf morphological variation. This study investigated the chromosome numbers and karyotypes of seven phenotyp...

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to determine the in vitro anti-inflammatory activities of solvent fractions from Chlorella vulgaris by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and cytokines. METHODS Methanolic extracts (80%) of C. vulgaris were prepared and partitioned with solvents of increasing polarity viz., n-hexane, chloroform, ethanol, and water. Various concentration...
